Ag Council

The Texas Agricultural Council is comprised of the various and many agricultural organizations from across Texas ... from the Rio Grande River, to the Texas High Plains and Panhandle, and from the East Texas forests, to the far West Texas mountains. These organizations represent regional and statewide farm organizations, all sectors of the livestock industry, crop growers, foresters, loggers, cotton ginners, grain and rice elevators, cooperatives and independent agribusinesses, agricultural lenders, property owners, soil and water conservation districts, rural electric and many, many more related industries.

Members of the Texas Agricultural Council work cooperatively to discuss a wide array of issues affecting Texas agriculture. The Council does not take any position on any particular issue, but rather acts as a forum for agriculture to communicate within itself to address those topics that affect the industry in total, or in any part. Various represented organizations of a like interest on any one subject may coordinate efforts to address that important issue, but the Council membership as a whole takes no official position.

The Council meets most frequently during the Regular and Special Sessions of the Texas Legislature, and from time to time, depending upon arising issues, during the off-legislative years.
